They say, “it takes a village to raise a child”. In our current COVID-19 climate, this couldn’t be more relevant. Helping people is a basic human instinct and in times of adversity, coming together for the greater good is what matters most. Over the years I have supported Hats On For Awareness in their commitment to achieving mental health awareness and raising funds for those living with and affected by mental illness and addictions. Now I come to you, ready to renew my personal commitment to this cause and bring it one step further. In the last year, I watched my kids in university and my son in high school experience the struggles of online learning: not attending in-person classes, doing everything in their rooms, and only socializing in front of a camera. In a sense, I noticed some of their energetic spirit was taken from them.
